I'm Ms. Piercy, one of the 8th grade English teachers at RAMS. My teaching style is very student centered, as I fully believe that in order for students to grow into productive participants in society, they must have some control over their learning. By raising thoughtful and eloquent speakers, readers, writers, and leaders in my classroom, my students have the ability to practice critical literacy skills to pursue their passions, which prepares them for careers in their areas of interest. All students come from different backgrounds, and so I encourage them to use our class as a chance to learn not only from me, but also from each another. In addition to cultivating a classroom of learners who are kind, creative, and articulate, one of my greatest goals is to develop a genuine love of learning in each student.

STUDENTS: Social-distancing! Get cozy with a book to read for ten minutes a day (just like we always do!), and check Google Classroom every single day so you can keep up with what we're doing in English through virtual-learning.
